Membership Meeting
April 14, 2025
Commander Gary Gladue conducted opening ceremonies and declared the Post 146 monthly meeting regularly convened at 17:30
Roll call was taken, quorum was met.

The February Minutes were approved as printed.
Commander Gladue gave the Executive Committee Report: Discussed Snack Shack cleaning; putting up flags for Memorial Day; upcoming bills; took from the table a motion to advertise at the field where the Red Waves play, which was rejected; adopted a motion by Rick Baldwin “to donate .50 per member to Iron Mountain Medical Center VAVS.”; adopted a motion by Wally Durow “to donate $200 to Menominee County Veterans Service Office to support the Veteran Resource Fair to be held on May 14th.”
Greg Furmanski gave the Finance Report. Jan Lepinski moved “to accept the Finance report subject to audit.” The motion was adopted.
Kurt Lepinski gave the Membership report: 369 of 376 goal for 98.14% of goal.
Mike Cutaiar gave the Bar Report. There are funds in the bank to cover upcoming large bills: liquor liability, federal and state payroll and sales taxes for the quarter.
Wally Durow gave the Athletics report: The checks to the Menominee youth baseball, girl’s HS softball, and boy’s HS baseball were delivered and much appreciated. Discussed possible future banner advertising. Looking for volunteers for the concession stand end of May - early June.
Steve Van Eyck gave the SAL report: 60 new members 163 total. Wrote a check for the UP Veterans War Memorial in Iron Mountain. Will be supporting Poppy Days, Veterans Resource Fair May 14th, July 12th Pig Roast.
Julie Erickson gave the Auxiliary report: at 100.6% according to Department. Taco Tuesday has been going well. Poppy Days end of May. Auxiliary District Meeting here May 3rd.
Commander Gladue gave the activities report: Freedom for Patriots is doing a pig roast for veterans using the Snack Shack. All the food is free. July 12th. Will be applying for multiple special liquor licenses. Looking for Snack Shack volunteers, mass email to follow.
New Business: The Bar Manager has submitted her resignation.
The Election Committee submitted a list of candidates. Commander: Gary Gladue and Jan Lepinski; 1st Vice: Tom England; 2nd Vice: none; 3rd Vice: Richard Baldwin; Finance Officer: None; Sergeant-at-Arms: James Kolky; Chaplain: Michael Cutaiar; Judge Advocate: Kim Coggins; Service Officer: Deborah Knernschield; Historian: None; Members At Large: James Berry, Walter Durow, Carl Granquist, Jean Stegeman. After nominations from the floor: 2nd Vice: Dave Herold and Richard McCullough; Members At Large: James Berry, Brian Chernetski, Walter Durow, Carl Granquist, Jean Stegeman. Mike Cutaiar moved “to approve the slate of candidates.” The motion was adopted.
The UP Convention is June 21st at the Post. A mailing went out to all posts in the UP for ads in the convention booklet.
Wally Durow won the pot.
