Membership Meeting
August 11, 2025

Commander Gary Gladue conducted opening ceremonies and declared the Post 146 monthly meeting regularly convened at 17:30

Roll call was taken, quorum was met.

The Charter was draped in memory of Ronald D Rothe and Martin J Eggener.

The July Minutes were approved as printed.

Commander Gladue gave the Executive Report: Commander Gladue submitted a written report of the Department Convention and requested reimbursement of his hotel bill, which was approved by the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee approved setting up a VA&R checking account with money donated by Jack’s.

Joel Oden gave the Finance Report. Discussion ensued. James Kolky moved “to accept the report, subject to audit.” The motion was adopted.

Kurt Lepinski gave the Membership Report: 208 paid members for 2026. Goals have not been published by Department yet. We had 387 paid members for 2025 at the end of June.

Mike Cutaiar gave the Bar Report: The new bartender is doing well. Both Club accounts are over $7500. Queen of Hearts brought in a lot of business. Friday is also a good day. There are military themed bracelets for sale at the bar on a trial basis.

Wally Durow gave the Athletics Report.

Gary Scholtz gave the House Committee Report. The Men’s room drains are acting up, the dryer in the basement needs to be vented through the wall. Estimates to be obtained.

Julie Erickson gave the Auxiliary Report. Taco Tuesday has been successful. Membership reports are not available yet. Last Friday we bagged groceries at Jack’s and did well, another one planned for September 11th. Next Auxiliary Meeting is 16 September because September 9th will be Taco Tuesday on the last drawing for Queen of Hearts.

Tom Englund gave the Activities Report: Profit from July 4th was $3061.25. we tried different hamburgers, which were popular. M&M car show 16 August. Kids family night 20 August.

Announcements: The Downtown Development Authority wants to put an arch over 10th Avenue like Escanaba and also want to put a “water feature” next to our deck. There is a city council meeting on the 3rd Monday at 6 pm.

Gary Sholtz won the drawing and donated it to the Post.
